Sincere Karma launch coming up

Great news, folks!! We've now set a date for the launch of our new single, and it's not too far away.

Saturday, 30 June will see us hit the stage at our favourite Sydney hangout, Frankie's Pizza, for a huge celebration as we let loose a brand new track — Sincere Karma.

Even more exciting — this will be the FIRST EVER single to be released on X-Ray Records, a new subsidiary of Golden Robot Records, the label behind classic Aussie acts like Rose Tattoo, The Superjesus and many more. We're super pumped to have their support, and can't wait to make more future announcements about our second single and a bit of touring action — yes Melbourne, we're coming back!!

Until then, we'll see you all at Frankie's on 30 June for one massive party!!! All the details are on our SHOWS page.

Rock on!!

Cigars play a ripping return at Frankie's

Having spent a few months re-organising the Cigars Of The Pharaoh line-up, it was so awesome to get back on stage and play live again at Frankie's Pizza in Sydney. It was a packed out show, and we couldn't have been happier at seeing all your smiling faces once again, and man, some of the dance moves were just incredible. We had air guitarists everywhere, air drummers, probably some air singers too. Most of all, we had a crowd that was totally up for the night, as we all were after all that time away.

The setlist, which included a few new tracks, was as follows:

Say Something
Sincere Karma
Screaming Woman
Never Leave You
Something's Going Down
Little Monster (Royal Blood Cover)
Mystery Highway

Thanks so much to everyone who made it out. You made the evening a truly special one, and we can't wait to see you all again in a couple of weeks when we play with our buddies from Napoleonic at the Town Hall Hotel in Newtown. Bring it on!!!

We've got a bunch of shots from the show thanks to the awesome Meredith Schofield. Check them all out, and many more, on the Photos page.

Cigars claim victory in first Emergenza Festival mission

It was quite a night in Sydney as Cigars Of The Pharaoh claimed first place in their heat of the Emergenza Festival, the world's biggest battle of the bands.

The boys ripped it up as the last act of the night on The Lair stage at The Metro Theatre, claiming outright victory by a significant margin — making the opening State Of Origin rugby league contest between New South Wales and Queensland look like an absolute fizzer in comparison.

Victory for COTP grants them a place in the next round of the competition, which will happen in September at The Factory Theatre.

Another success there will mean a place in the national Australian final, and a shot at competing in the international final at Germany's Taubertal Festival, which in the past has featured performances by the likes of The Cure, Placebo, The Prodigy, Iggy & The Stooges, Biffy Clyro and 2016 headliner Limp Bizkit.

Cigars Of The Pharaoh would like to thank everyone that came out to support them on the night, as well as the other bands involved in the heat. A huge thank you also to the Emergenza Festival staff for the opportunity and seamless running of the event.

Here are a few more pics from the night, thanks to our good friend and amazing snapper Mez Schofield.

Keep on rockin'!!!!

Cigars all set for world's biggest band comp

We're delighted to announce we'll be playing in the next heat of the Emergenza Festival, known as the world's biggest band competition. The show is on 1 June in Sydney at The Lair inside The Metro Theatre, and we need you all to come along and vote for us to win!!!

The festival takes place all over the world in more than 30 countries and close to 200 cities. The ultimate prize for winning the Australian leg is a place in the international final in Germany at the Taubertal Festival, where 30,000 people will be in attendance to rock like crazy. Naturally, we desperately want to be there and you can help us.

You can purchase tickets for $15 ahead of the show, or $20 on the door on the night. Once you're there, you'll be able to case your votes and help us get through.

To secure your ticket ahead of the show, simply email us at, or call the number shown on the image above. It's that easy. We'd love to see you there, because it is going to be one hell of a night.

Here's a taste of what to expect at the Germany festival. We think you'll agree, it looks absolutely brilliant.

Hitting the New Year running

Happy New Year all, even though it's a couple of week's old now. We finished 2015 with a run of shows in Melbourne and Sydney, and started 2016 with a bang thanks to some more great reviews for Mystery Highway. The guys at Happy — one of the best Australian music blogs out there — interview Toby to talk about the band and what we have planned for this year. You can read the full story here. Massive thanks to Maddy Brown for being so good to us!! A snippet from the piece is below.

We also had a great time in at Sydney-based community radio station 2RRR a week ago. Chris Virtue, host of the awesome Radio Active show on Saturday nights, invited us in to guest host the first hour of his show, which was such a blast. We're looking at doing something else with the station that is going to be big, so stay tuned for more on that. If you missed the show, you can listen to it right here.

Mystery Highway Launch is set

It seems like only yesterday we were in the studio recording our debut EP, Mystery Highway. Well, today we can excitedly announce that the launch for the first single from that record is all booked and set for take-off.

Thanks to The A&R Department, we'll be launching the title track as our first single at Sydney's awesome Oxford Art Factory. Details of the gig are on our Shows page, so make sure you head there to check it all out, and put a big fat mark in your diaries.

We'll be headlining the night, and there will be fantastic support from Bottlecock, Elia Fell and Angus C Crowley, too, so it's shaping up to be something truly special.

Be there, or miss out on seeing one of Australia's freshest new rock acts take the world by storm.

Halloween special with The Lazys

We got a super exciting invite the other day to join The Lazys as they finish up the Australian leg of their Black Rebel tour. The show will be at The Lewisham Hotel on 31 October, so why not get on your best Halloween costume and come down to join us.

We'll be opening the night at 7pm, getting you in the mood for an all-star cast of Australia's best live rock acts, so we're massively stoked to be a part of it. As well as us and The Lazys, you'll also get to see Chase The Sun, The Ruckus, Flaccid Mohawk, and even Memphis Mae and Diesel, stars of the ever popular Show Pony Burlesque.

All the details are on the Shows page, including links to tickets if you want to get them early. You might need to, because this will be a huge one.

Shows, shows and more shows

Seeing Cigars Of The Pharaoh live is an experience you won't forget - so it's pretty handy that we've got a stack of opportunities for you to come along and see us play over the coming months.

The boys have been busy getting venues across Sydney and its surrounds excited about hosting the band in the lead up to what will be an epic single launch in a couple of months' time - but more on that at a later date. All we'll say is that it's going to be huge ... like building-human-colonies-on-Mars huge!!

But before all that, we've got shows coming up at The Lewisham Hotel this Saturday 29 August when we support our good buddies Silver Cream Insanity. On 30 September, we're headlining one of our favourite digs, Frankie's Pizza, with Gypsys Of Pangea and then in on 30 October, we're adding more rock to the Blue Mountains when we take to the stage at The Carrington in Katoomba. Wolfdog will provide support that night for us.

For all the details of our upcoming shows, just head to the Shows page and mark all the dates in your diary. And remember ... something huge is coming there very very soon, too. Stay tuned.

A quick thanks once again to Sean Carey, picture with the band above, who recorded and co-produced the tracks at Church Street Studios with some seriously amazing skills. Also, thanks to Steve Smart at Studios 301, who mastered everything so beautifully.

Shots from the Lewisham

Thanks to our good friend Meredith Schofield for coming down to shoot out inaugural show at Sydney's Lewisham Hotel in July. Doors open at 8pm and you can get all the details from the events panel on the website.
